What is contouring? Remodeling means nothing more than remodeling
Contouring means nothing more than “contouring” by sculpting the face: the volumes of the face are reconstructed thanks to a play of light and shadow obtained by a mix of light and dark foundations.
In general, the use of a single foundation covers and uniforms up to flatten the natural three-dimensional effect of the face. This technique, however, manages to make the face three-dimensional and camouflage some small defect. It is possible to obtain a lifting effect without resorting to cosmetic surgery.
To make a good contouring the choice of the shades of the product to use is very important.
The dark color should be a nice cold brown (tone that is closer to the color of the natural shadows of our face). To illuminate, however, all the light shades are perfect, from pure white to diaphanous skin, to yellow / ocher, for the darkest skins.
Another factor that must be taken into account is the finish of the light shades used, as with regard to the dark tone an opaque finish is a must. The clears can also be slightly pearly or satin, provided they are not used on an imperfect skin, in fact, this case would accentuate imperfection.
Now we come to the texture: the contouring products can be powder or cream, but the result of the cream is slightly more intense (to accentuate the contrast it is also possible to pass a powdered product of the same shade over the cream).
It is possible to use brushes or sponge (for creamy products). The brushes should preferably be medium-sized with scaled-bristled bristles, in order to deposit little product at a time.
Taking into consideration the type of face (see the photo above) we see how and where to apply chiaroscuro.
Shading / Lighting.
– Hairline / Front: to make the forehead smaller
– Side of the nose / Bridge of the nose: makes the nose more straight and narrow. On the tip possibly to shorten it.
-Under the cheekbone / Zygoma: gives emphasis to the cheekbone, illusion of greater prominence
-Chicken near the chin / Chin: defines the contour of the face. The illuminant brings out the chin. The step following the application is the nuance. It is essential to blend well with illuminating and shading to the skin without creating a net detachment of color (it is a common mistake, in fact, to leave visible unsightly stripes of color). Once faded, to fix everything, we spread the transparent powder so as not to alter the work and the game is done.
